Most guides give one list of times. This finder combines the latest studies from Sprout Social, Buffer, Hootsuite and Later, covering more than 50 million posts, and converts their best times from your audience’s clock to yours, whether you post from London, Mumbai, Manila or Sydney, or for followers in another country.

Best time to post in the UK, India, the Philippines, Australia, Canada and the US
The studies give times in the audience’s local time, so the best local times are the same in every country. What differs is the clock: time zones, daylight saving, and the gap to followers abroad. Here is what that means where these searches come from most.
Best time to post in the UK
UK time is GMT in winter and BST (GMT+1) from the last Sunday in March to the last Sunday in October.
Post at these times in UK time:
TikTok: Sunday 9–10 a.m.
Instagram: Tuesday 3–4 p.m.
LinkedIn: Tuesday 4–5 p.m.
Posting from the UK for followers in the US? TikTok’s top time, Sunday 9–10 a.m. in New York, is Sunday 2–3 p.m. UK time for most of the year.
India uses IST (GMT+5:30) all year, with no daylight saving, so the gap to the US and Europe changes when their clocks do.
Post at these times in IST:
Instagram: Tuesday 3–4 p.m.
LinkedIn: Tuesday 4–5 p.m.
YouTube: Sunday 9–11 a.m.
Posting from India for followers in the US? Instagram’s top time, Tuesday 3–4 p.m. in New York, is Wednesday 12:30–1:30 a.m. IST in July and 1:30–2:30 a.m. in January.
The Philippines uses PHT (GMT+8) all year, with no daylight saving.
Post at these times in PHT:
TikTok: Sunday 9–10 a.m.
Instagram: Tuesday 3–4 p.m.
Facebook: Tuesday 7–8 p.m.
Posting from the Philippines for followers in the US? TikTok’s top time, Sunday 9–10 a.m. in New York, is Sunday 9–10 p.m. PHT in July and 10–11 p.m. in January.
Australia has three main time zones, and only some states change their clocks (October to April). Sydney and Melbourne do; Brisbane and Perth don’t.
Post at these times in Sydney time:
TikTok: Sunday 9–10 a.m.
Instagram: Tuesday 3–4 p.m.
Posting from Australia for followers in the US? TikTok’s top time, Sunday 9–10 a.m. in New York, is Sunday 11 p.m.–Mon 12 a.m. Sydney time in July and Monday 1–2 a.m. in January.
It starts from each study’s own times. For every day of the week, we store the hours each study recommends, in the audience’s local time. A range such as 2–4 p.m. covers 2:00 up to, but not including, 4:00; a single time such as 9 a.m. represents the following hour. Vague recommendations without a precise time are shown in the source table but do not cast a vote.
It counts the studies that agree. For every 15 minutes of your week, the finder checks what time it is where your audience lives and counts the studies that recommend that hour. With more than one place, a study only counts if it recommends the time in every place.
It ranks the windows. Your top times are the windows the most studies agree on. Ties go to a study’s own top-ranked slots: we count how many study top-slot hours a window contains, then prefer the longer window. These are our combined windows, not a new measurement of engagement or a reproduction of any publisher’s ranking.
It converts to your clock for this week’s dates. The conversion uses your browser’s time zone data for real dates, so daylight-saving changes and half-hour zones such as India (UTC+5:30) come out right.
Calculations run in your browser without sending your choices to a calculation service. Your time zone comes from your device settings, not an IP lookup. The board shows the strongest simultaneous agreement within each hour; hover, tap or use arrow keys for the exact interval. A lit hour does not mean every minute is recommended. Shared links include the chosen zones, and existing site analytics still run.
Why the studies disagree
On Instagram, Later points to early mornings, Buffer’s daily recommendations vary from mornings to evenings, and Sprout Social favours weekday afternoons. None of them is wrong. They answer slightly different questions.
They measure different things. Sprout Social looks at when engagement peaks. Buffer ranks hours by median engagement per post. Later ranks by engagement rate. Hootsuite looks at engagement across posts from 118 countries.
They see different accounts. Each study samples its own customers or dataset, so the mix of brands, creators and industries differs. Some accounts may appear in more than one dataset; agreement is not statistical confidence or a guarantee.
They cover different years. Later’s Instagram data is from 2024, Buffer’s from 2024–2025 and Sprout Social’s from the winter of 2025–26.
Timing matters less than it did. Feeds are ranked by interest, so a good time mainly helps early engagement. A strong first second and a clear hook still matter more.
That is why the finder shows where they agree rather than picking one study’s answer.
How to find your own best time
Study averages are a starting point. Your own followers are the real answer, and most apps will show you when they are online.
In Analytics, the Followers tab shows follower activity by hour. TikTok suggests posting on your most active days and, at most, two hours before activity peaks.
YouTube
In YouTube Analytics, the Audience tab has a “When your viewers are on YouTube” chart. YouTube says publish time “is not known to impact a video’s long-term performance”, but it helps early views, Premieres and live streams.
Facebook
When you schedule a post in Meta Business Suite, Active times recommends times from when your followers were most active over the past 7 days. It works for Instagram too.
LinkedIn and X
Neither shows when your followers are online, so test: post similar content at two times and compare.
A simple test: take the finder’s top two times and alternate between them for four weeks, with similar posts. Compare reach and engagement in the first 24 hours, then keep the winner.
Common mistakes
Posting at your own best time. If you live in London and most of your followers are in the US, 9 a.m. your time is 4 a.m. in New York for most of the year (5 a.m. during the clock-change mismatch).
Trusting one study’s single best time. One slot from one dataset is a weak signal. Look for the hours several studies share.
Forgetting daylight saving. The US and Europe change their clocks on different dates, so for a few weeks each spring and autumn the gap between them is one hour smaller. The finder uses real dates, so it shows the right time that week.
Judging a time on one post. One post is mostly about the content. Compare several similar posts before you change your schedule.
Who it’s for
Creators and UGC creators planning their own posts, social media managers posting for clients in other countries, and small brands without a scheduling tool. It is most useful when you and your audience live in different time zones.
Common questions
What is the best time to post on social media?
No single time wins everywhere. Across the four studies, weekdays beat weekends on most platforms, and Tuesday to Thursday come up most often. TikTok and YouTube are the exceptions in Buffer’s data, where weekends do well. Use the finder for the platform you post on most, then test its top two times.
Are these times in my time zone or my audience’s?
The studies give every time in the audience’s local time: 9 a.m. means 9 a.m. where your followers are. The finder converts those times to your own clock, so if you live in Manila and your audience is in New York, it shows when to post in Manila time.
My followers live in several countries. When should I post?
Add up to three places. The finder then only counts a study when it recommends the time in every place, which shows you the overlap. If there is no overlap, post for your biggest group, or post twice. Instagram, TikTok and YouTube analytics show where your followers are.
Is the best time to post different in the UK, India or the Philippines?
The studies don’t publish separate results for each country. They convert every post to its audience’s local time, so the same local times apply wherever your followers are: for example, TikTok’s top time is Sunday 9–10 a.m. UK time for a UK audience, or Philippine time for a Philippine audience. What changes between countries is time zones and daylight saving, which the finder handles.
I live in India or the Philippines and my followers are in the US. When should I post?
Post at your followers’ best times, converted to your clock. Instagram’s top time, Tuesday 3–4 p.m. in New York, is Wednesday 12:30–1:30 a.m. in India in July and 1:30–2:30 a.m. in January, because the US changes its clocks and India doesn’t. Add your followers’ city in the finder, then schedule the post in the app if it falls while you’re asleep.
Does posting time still matter with algorithm feeds?
Less than it used to. Feeds now rank posts by interest, not only by time. A good time mainly helps your post get early likes and comments, which can help it travel further. YouTube says publish time “is not known to impact a video’s long-term performance”. Treat these times as a starting point to test.
How do you detect my time zone? Is my location sent anywhere?
Your browser supplies its time zone from your device settings; this is not GPS or a verified location. Changing places and calculating results happen locally, with no IP lookup or calculation request. Existing site analytics still run. If you copy and share a link, it includes the selected time zones; opening that URL can put them in server and analytics logs. You can change the place at any time.
How often is the data updated?
Each publisher updates its study about once a year. We check the four studies and update the finder when a new edition comes out. The data was last checked in October 2026.
Sources
Times are summarised from each publisher’s own page and were checked in October 2026. Charts and tables belong to their publishers.
Sprout Social
Nearly 2 billion engagements across 307,000 profiles from 30,000+ Sprout Social customers, 27 Nov 2025 – 27 Feb 2026.
On time zones: “All optimal posting times are listed in Local Time. Whether your target audience is in Los Angeles or London, schedule your posts for the hours listed below in their respective local time zones.”
Over 6 million Instagram posts, January – October 2024, ranked by engagement rate.
On time zones: “The data in this article is normalized to your audience’s local time zone. When we say 5 AM is the best time to post, we mean 5 AM wherever your followers are located.”
Later’s TikTok, Facebook and LinkedIn guides are not counted: their times come from Later’s own account or give no data. Sprout Social’s 2026 study does not cover YouTube.
